Declutter break of the day

If you are struggling with organizing your home, if you are always feeling flustered and overwhelmed, or if you feel like you can’t clean your house without it becoming instantly messy again, it may be time to change your declutter system.

There are a lot of ways that you can systemize your decluttering or at least focus on decluttering.

You could try to do it all at once, you could try to concentrate on a room each month, or you could just do a bit every day. You could set a timer or have a declutter day of the week.

I propose to you a declutter break of the day

Pick a time when you usually have at least 10-30 minutes at home. It may be between dropping the kids at school and your first meeting. It could be when you first wake up in the morning. It could even be just after tucking in the littles. Just pick a time that works for you. It doesn’t have to be when you have the most energy or even a time when you actually feel like decluttering, because well… let’s face it, who really wants to? Just pick a time that you would otherwise be awake and maybe by yourself but not really doing anything in particular. It’s the best way to feel like you are adding time to your day AND using your time more effectively.

Once you decide what time you will have your declutter break, set an alarm in your phone!

Pull your phone out right now and set it!! Do it!!!

Now that you have your declutter break of the day set, just use it! Use it today! Use it every day!

Start in one corner of your house and work your way around choosing to declutter spaces that will likely take you between 10-30 minutes to complete. I am not talking about tasks that take all day, just short, simple spaces. Spaces that are easy to empty out and deal with in a short period of time.

Every day, spend time on your declutter break of the day. As soon as that alarm goes off, get to work and get it done fast! It will give you a huge sense of relief after each and every declutter break.

You can’t really successfully clean, let alone organize, a cluttered space.

As a bonus tip, set aside a time each week to drop off a load of stuff to a donation center or pick a day to post a few items for sale. Even better, do both!

Consistency is key!

Fill up those garbage bags and donate bins throughout the week so that it’s all in one place come garbage day or your planned donation day.

The process will get you the results you’ve been dreaming of for so long. Stick with it, no matter what! As soon as that alarm goes off, get to work. You will start loving the sound of that alarm because it will be so satisfying to put in the effort.

Practice to love that declutter break of the day!

Thanks for coming home!
