Back to school, back to work for some, back to routine, and back to chaos.
September brings fresh starts but also returns us to busy nights filled with extracurricular activities, homework, and the requirement for a tight meal plan to ensure healthy but easy weekday meals to avoid that drive-through line!
It’s why september is all about…
Meal planning!
Meal planning doesn’t have to be something that takes hours of thought or even hours of time. Just spend a couple of minutes looking at or thinking about the food you have. Build your meals around that, then, if you really need to, pop into the grocery store for the rest and stick to your plan!!
If you have at least 30 minutes in your day, then you can prepare a nice home cooked meal. Those 30 minutes don’t even have to be at the meal time. You can use whatever 30 minutes you have, whether it’s on lunch break, morning, or even the day before. Just use the time wisely, and you can have a home cooked meal in less time than that fast food restaurant finally calls your number!
Sure, it sounds convenient to hit up whatever drive-through you can, jumping from here to there, but with line-ups and messed up orders, it can be more of a hassle than it’s worth. Try making sandwiches instead or some easy finger foods. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just made at home to save some money!
Through September, get ready for all kinds of great meal planning tips and some ideas for how to get the most out of the food you already have!
