Can you believe January is already over? I feel like it flew by in the blink of an eye! If you feel the same and you are already wondering how you will possibly get through 2024 – and thrive! – then you need to find a way to reconnect back to yourself and your true values!
As you do things in your day, think about how you feel. Are the things you are doing connecting you to yourself, or are they making you feel further from yourself. Does it give you peace, or does it make you angrier or irritable?
Think about times when you have been traveling or doing something outside the home. Same questions: Does it give you peace, a deep sense of satisfaction, or does it make you feel like you are wasting your time. What makes you feel most comfortable or most home?
What makes you feel most like you?
Make a list of all the things that make you feel the most like you, the most connected to you, the things that make you the happiest.
Make a list of the things that make you crabby! That make you feel like you are forced into it rather than enjoying it.
Figure out a way, as you go through the rest of 2024, to do more of what makes you feel like you.
In all reality, you still need to force yourself to do some of the things you don’t like to do – we all have responsibilities! But really try to focus on adding in more of those things that truly make you feel like you, whatever that may be!
If you need to add in an extra vacation each year – find a way to make it happen!
If you need to spend more time watching tv – force yourself to get something done around the house, then sit and enjoy the time!
It’s so easy to lose ourselves in the rat race of taking kids here and there, doing umpteen million chores, working full time, or even part time, even keeping up with the latest social media! Often, we even lose ourselves to our spouses or kids because we may focus our time on the things they need or want to do.
When you are deeply connected with who you are, you stop making excuses for taking the time to do the things you actually want to do! You stop caring about what others say about the choices you are making and the time it takes. When you reconnect with yourself, you start using your time differently. You become more confident! You may even start decluttering differently as things become less or more valuable to you at this moment in time! You may EVEN find that you start naturally becoming a healthier and happier version of yourself!!
Make the time to reconnect with you.
Make it a priority! AND do it guilt free!
Encourage others in the house to do it! Talk to your kids about it! Ask them the same questions! You’d be surprised by how much they respond, and it can give you some direction for what to look into for their happiness and fulfillment.
What do you do that makes you realize that you haven’t even checked your phone in a while?? Focus on that and start enjoying life a little more!
