Good enough, really is enough!

Whether you are decluttering your house, prepping a great party, finishing an assignment in school, or even just using a brand new planner for the first time.

Good enough, really is good enough!

Nothing HAS to be perfect! You don’t even need to reach perfection as the final end point. There is no perfect! Don’t even try to get to perfect! Use effort as your guide instead. Let’s take a school assignment as an easy example. Stressing about perfect will only make the task seem impossible and make you feel like you will never get it right! Instead, putting in a lot of effort is something you can do! Putting in your time is something you can do. AND, putting in a good amount of effort and a good amount of time will make you proud of your work no matter what your teacher says about it – even more… your grade will likely reflect your effort! The same is true for your house. Your house doesn’t have to be perfect – in fact, as soon as you think an area is perfect you’re just going to find another area to work on, OR you may even want to change the whole house again!

What you really want is effort that leads to good enough.

If you strive for good enough, you will find that you are actually more satisfied with life as it is right now!

This is another reason why my tidy/clean, 10-15 minute timer is so useful as a way of tackling seemingly impossibly overwhelming areas of your house.

For today’s 10 minute timers, I attacked the upstairs hallway. It has been a space I have been avoiding since before Christmas! It is sooo long overdue, and it has been weighing me down so much over the last month! I finally decided to set a timer and try to work on just half of it!

So, here is my chaos turned to good enough for now.

The key is that good enough for now, if you can keep up with at least a couple of 10 minute timers daily, will make it even better next time! Because again – if you’re consistent – that area will come up quickly on the list of areas to tackle. It, hopefully, stayed in better shape than prior to the last 10 minute tidy of that area, meaning that now the good enough is actually better than the end result last time!

It can also help you to stay motivated to do another 10 minutes! I decided to tackle the other half of the hallway, too!

Check it out!

Use your timers. Put in some effort. Then, be satisfied with good enough! It’s all just a work in progress!

What are you doing with 10 minutes tomorrow??

Thanks for coming home!
