Add adventure to your routine

Do you feel like all you do is work and chores? Or work, decluttering, and reorganizing, just to do it all again next week?

Sometimes, you need to step away and enjoy life, no matter what the state of your house is. Find some way to have fun or simply escape that monotonous routine! If those winter blues have you disliking your day to day, spice it up!

Be spontaneous and just up and leave for a weekend getaway or for a whole week!

Sometimes, you need a mental break from routine, and leaving your home and comfort to stay somewhere else for a few nights is a great way to get that break! You need a break from your house so that you can come back to it and make it seem refreshing to get back into your chores and your routine. The old, ‘distance makes the heart grow fonder’ attitude. I know that when I am away and come back to my house, I am so much more appreciative of what I have. Being stuck in the same place can make you take it all for granted. Some time away can help you see just how good you got it, despite all the things you get frustrated about.

There’s so much more to life than a couple of pairs of dirty socks on the floor!

Find an escape that gives you that mental break or separation that you need. Travel with a friend or travel with your family. Sneak away to a neighbouring city for 2-3 nights and be tourists. Rent a cabin in the woods and just hide out for a few days, either with friends or family, or even just by yourself!

It may seem selfish or too ‘out there’ for some people to understand but, making those little escape trips a reality can make a huge difference when it comes to your desire to continue working on decluttering your house. They can help you find the motivation to continue working hard, even when you don’t want to! Especially if you are feeling like you never reach the point of being happy with it all.

Even just packing your stuff and taking it somewhere else for a few nights – no matter how much work that takes – can be so worth it!

Find a hotel, pack your favourite snacks or some special drinks, pack a craft or a great book, plan an exciting place to explore, and actually go!

Go adventuring to reset your spirit and get out of your routine!

Thanks for coming home!
