All too often, you get part way into a project and…
This is literally the whole (albeit totally unfinished!) draft. I just opened it up to remind myself what I was working on! It was way too good to pass up! I mean, how ironic, right?? Writing a post about not finishing something, and then not finishing it!? How perfect!
It’s so true, though.
Life is busy, and really, everyone is juggling more than they can handle most of the day, most of the week, even most of the year! That is a lot of pressure to keep up with! It’s hard to ensure that nothing bogs you down or distracts you from finishing that partly started project!
How often do you make something a priority one day, just to find it on the back burner the next day?
There’s no way to do it all!
All of this leads to half finished projects, good intentions, scattered thoughts, and possibly, even feelings of failure and guilt.
Rid yourself of all of that! What’s done is done! You can’t go back. There’s no way that I can remember what I was actually going to make this post about from my draft from who knows when – especially when it ends mid sentence!!!
BUT, you do have the power to turn those half finished projects around.
It comes down to choice.
Use it or lose it! Make your choice about your half finished project. Decide if it’s worth it to keep on going with it or use it in a different way. Or, simply toss out the idea or first half and don’t think about it again.
You decide how those half finished projects will work for you or against you. They will either help you redirect your energy into something else more productive and better suited for your time, or they will actually become your next priority until that half project is finally done!
Just don’t carry those half finished projects around with you! They will weigh you down and slow down your progress, and even bring down your mood!
Is it worth it to keep working on it or not?
That’s the question you need to be asking yourself as you come across stuff in your house or promises of completion arise. It’s that simple! So, get back in the game of life. Make decisions about the stuff you’re working on!
Here’s a secret, you don’t actually have to finish everything that you start! You can decide part way in that it’s not your thing and, you can get rid of it!!
Remember, there’s no way to do it all, so give up trying to get there.
