Clothes!!!

Spring has sprung, and it even feels like summer already! The next rainy day you have, pull out all of your clothes and try everything on so that you can declutter your closet like crazy!! Get rid of anything that doesn’t make you feel like a million bucks!! Trust me! It’s worth it! I will allow you to keep one comfy outfit – hey, we all need something cozy on a sick day!

Go through your closet in detail! Don’t leave anything out! Sort through your PJs, your socks and undies, your pants and shorts, your t’s and tanks, your athleticwear, even your formalwear and swimwear! Pull out any belts, fashion scarves, hats, shawls, and allllll those shoes!!!

Make your husband or partner go through all of their stuff, too. Don’t forget men’s ties, belts, and hats! Just because they don’t wear some of their stuff as often doesn’t mean it needs to be kept! Go through any sports team jerseys, too!

Do the same for the kids! Pull it all out from wherever it’s all been hiding – because you know the kids aren’t wearing everything in their closet either!! Check the kids’ shoe sizes and get rid of old shoes that don’t fit anymore! Go through their bathing suits and swim shirts – check for elastic breakdown and see-through-ness! If your kids love dressing up, sort through any dress up stations or dress up clothes that you have. Even old Halloween costumes!

When you’re done with clothing closets, don’t stop there!!

Hit up the seasonal gear! Things like winter gear – snow pants, coats, boots, hats, gloves, scarves. Double check that it’s actually worth storing them through the whole summer! It may be worth getting rid of stuff now and getting the right fit in the fall.

Speaking of seasonal, we can get a fair bit of rain through the spring. Why not ensure your rain gear fits. Check the kids’ rain coats and boots, check your own rain coat and boots, check any rain pants, and see if they still fit. You could also check out umbrellas while you’re at it!

Lastly, don’t forget to check in with yourself about how you are actually storing your clothes! Maybe you can get rid of some hangers or hanging closet shelves. Get rid of baskets and bins if you can or even old laundry bins if they no longer add purpose to your life!

It’s a great time of year to go through all the things you might wear. There’s nothing better then heading to a friend’s house for a last minute pool party invite and reaching through your swimwear and pulling out any of it in a matter of seconds, knowing with confidence that you will look and feel amazing!

Thanks for coming home!
