I know you’ve got it! Somewhere in the house! Maybe in the basement! We all have a bin or box of a bunch of phone/charger cords. Some may even be for an old phone you no longer have, or worse, a broken cord that doesn’t even work anymore!
It’s time to say good bye!
Any old phones, old computers or laptops, old computer parts even, old printers, old ink for old printers, old gaming consoles or games, old cameras and even old phones – all of it can go!
You would have to be a super tech guru in order to repurpose these devices. Also, even if you have the skills, there’s no guarantee that the tech will be quick enough or even supported by apps and updates to really make use of any of it! That doesn’t even tap into the question of online security!
Even old batteries need to get gone! If you have batteries that you don’t know are full of charge or not, you could get yourself a tester so that you know which ones to keep and which ones to toss. Next time you’re out shopping, keep your eyes peeled for a battery disposal bin. Some libraries or malls will have a spot to toss old batteries. If that fails, check out your local disposal or waste sorting station.
All of this tech is simply not worth keeping or hanging onto for a long time. Tech becomes out of date so quickly. You may want to hold onto an old 8-track player, or your first CD player, or that first or second generation iPod – but truly, are you ever going to actually use it? Is it really worth the storage space just to one day say, “This is how I used to listen to my music!” Nostalgia is an amazing thing!! It can bring you back to a completely different time in your life. But now, what really matters is how you use your space now and how your space works for you. If it’s not working, start by decluttering all that tech!
