I can remember when my kids would nap, more precisely kid #1. When you have multiple kids, it doesn’t really matter if they nap in terms of it giving you personal time because there are other kids running wild! But, for kid #1, I can remember the excitement of thinking ok, they’re down, now what? What can I get done?
The best way to get the most out of having a shortish period of time to get stuff done is to plan ahead.
I talk about planning ahead often in my posts. It’s for none other than really getting the most out of your time.
You can plan your time whether you have a napping kid, napping puppy, or even if you simply have limited time in your day.
If you can take just a couple of minutes to write down your top three priorities for the day, you are WAY more likely to actually get stuff done!
As soon as you finally have time to yourself, even before you sit down and pick up your phone, check your list!
Checking your list as the first thing you do when you find yourself with time means that you can jump right into your tasks. If you sit and pull out your phone, you will significantly reduce your motivation!
This also works best if you can stick with a list of your top THREE priorities. Any more tasks than that, and it can quickly become too overwhelming.
So, next nap time or free time, be ready with your plan!!
