When it comes to decorations, especially if you like buying end of year or after season stuff, it’s easy to suddenly have too much!
If you are working hard at making your house spooky or at least festive for Halloween, don’t forget that you can purge some of it and that you can choose to not even put it out or set it up!
Just because you have it, it does not mean you need to keep it or put it out!
Sure, that really cool window sticker that you bought for a quarter may have seemed super awesome at the time, but now, compared to the rest of your stuff it looks tacky – just get rid of it!
Those yard decorations of tomb stones may not go with the rest of your stuff – and that’s ok. Just get rid of it!
Again, just because you have it, it doesn’t mean you need to keep it.
Anything that you decided not to set up this year, just get rid of it! It’s a sign that you didn’t think it was good enough to set up this year, which means that it won’t be worth setting up next year or the next!
Also, as you are putting stuff away this year, if it’s damaged, broken, or not something you loved (maybe it was a hassle to set up), just get rid of it!
It’s not worth your time having things that you will not use! It’s not worth the space of storing it if it’s too much work.
Think of the space that you have for keeping your decorations. Only put away the amount that you can store!
It’s worth getting rid of something each year because chances are, you may find some of those after season sales that you just can’t pass up. OR, there will be something new and cool out next year that you may want to splurge on. Keep some of your space free for those easy add ons!
Enjoy your Halloween night, whether you are staying home and giving out candy or heading out into the world with your little Trick or Treater!
