Organizing the house and decluttering, even doing the chores are all monotonous tasks. It’s easy to feel like it’s all you do when you are at home, and it’s easy to feel the weight of doing tasks just to have to do them all again!
Sometimes, small and simple changes to your daily routine can make a big difference in how you feel about getting things done.
Do active things when you are most awake
Do your bigger chores, like vacuuming or mopping, or even decluttering when you have the most energy or are feeling most awake. Doing your heavily physical tasks when you are sleepy and at the end of the day is going to make you want to procrastinate on it until the next day, and the next, until you suddenly have to do it because you keep stepping on bits of things! Maximizing your most awake time for these bigger tasks is going to ensure that you have the body energy reserve to get the task done!
Save the planning for low energy times
If you ensure that you save some of your easy tasks for when you have lower amounts of energy then you can ensure that you still feel productive even when you otherwise would have sat in front on the TV or scroll through your social media. This is a great time for planning! The planning time is usually time when you just need to sit and think, so it’s a great thing to do when you just need that physical break. This could also be a good time for tasks like wiping down cupboards or even wiping down some appliances. Wiping is a task that you can often do while sitting, making it ideal for when you are reaching your energy limit.
Re-ordering when you work on different tasks can be the difference between getting things done with a good attitude and dreading each and every thing on your list. Sometimes, the littlest tweak in your routine can change how you feel about what you need to do.
Think about your own self and when you have the most energy. If you are at home mostly through the day, make the most of your energy! If you work out of the house, you may need to just figure out if you need to wake up a bit earlier or just get cracking on a bigger task as soon as you get home rather than letting yourself rest!
Tweak your routine so that it matches your energy! You may end up finding new inspiration and excitement in your routine!
