The simplest closet decluttering system for long term success!

Some Christmas and holiday parties are happening! You may have already been to or hosted some! If you feel overwhelmed by picking out some clothes to wear, you may benefit from heading into your closet sooner rather than later!

Every day, we spend at least a little bit of time in our closets. If you have way too many clothes in there, making it harder to pick outfits, you may need to focus on some real decluttering of your closet!

Here is the simplest strategy for decluttering your closet.

Each and every morning, pick something to wear!

Seems crazy simple, right, haha! Ok, here’s the catch…

Before you put on what you’ve picked… you must try one thing on!

Before committing to your outfit for the day, try something on. It can be either tops or bottoms, but fully try it on! After you have really tried the item on, make the decision whether to keep or donate. If you’re going to keep it, it has to be what you wear tomorrow!

This system is for people who have LOTS to declutter from their closet, but I am telling you, it works!

When you are finally happy with all the clothes in your closet and the number of pieces you have, then the side benefit of the process is that you’re always picking your outfit the day before by trying it on first.

Often, we get stuck wearing the same things over and over because it’s easy. We wore the item recently so we know it will fit or be comfortable, and that can mean a whole lot of clothes from your closet go untouched and unworn all year!

So, head into your closet in the morning and pick out something to wear AND something to try on! Start your mini habit of getting rid of clothes you don’t like on a more consistent basis!

No need to go through your closet all at once!! Pace yourself!

Thanks for coming home!
