Have you ever started a hobby or found an interest in something only to realize years later that you must not have been as interested in it as you thought…and now, all of the supplies are taking up valuable space in your home…but, you still somehow feel like you will get to it…one day!!
Leave all of those unfinished projects behind and declutter it all!!
I used to love the idea of scrapbooking memories upon memories into amazingly crafted pages for each trip or adventure. Instead, that hobby turned into a hobby of finding deals on scrapbooking supplies and not so much DOING the scrapbooking!
Now, as I look at all the supplies I have, and compare that to the technology that is available today for digital scrapbooking – I may never go back to my paper books that collect dust – even if they are amazing!
Hobbies and interests are funny things. They come and go through life as time permits. They can be so all-encompassing then, turn into a brief memory after some time goes by.
This does not even just have to apply to hobbies. It can be renovations or home improvement projects, it can be toys that are still waiting for their overdue repairs, it can be sports equipment for something you thought you were going to get into but didn’t, it can even be books that you thought you were going to read, but instead periodically pull them out, look at them, and never actually get started on reading them!
All of these half finished projects add mental clutter, physical clutter, and stress in general to your life. AND…
None of it is worth it!
If you ever do have time to work on those projects, newer materials might be available, or the stuff you have might get damaged or broken from storage.
As painful as it might be, especially if you do get into whatever it was years from now, it’s easier just to get rid of it all! It doesn’t matter how finished the project might be. If it’s not done now, it might as well go. Or the supplies for the project might as well go!
Think of the space you could get back – you could use that space today for something that’s important to you, right now!
Think of the mental clarity you’ll get from knowing that all of that stuff is no longer weighing you down!
Think of the mental load lifted, of not having the pressure of seeing your half finished anythings as you walk around the house!
Free yourself of it all!
Get rid of all of your half finished anythings! Focus on the things that are important to you today, not what you thought you would do yesterday!
