Have you started using one yet? Or thought about how it might help you?
If you have no clue what I’m talking about, go back and read about the Room-box.
I started mine with one of my kitchen drawers because it had become, um, slightly problematic! Everything was always shifting and causing the drawer to be stuck part way open or closed. It was definitely a big enough sore spot to make it to the top of the list for the Room-box!

The drawer is now empty and ready to wait for the essentials!

This is a great opportunity to pull out any organizers, clean them, and even decide if it’s worth keeping them. I decided to hold onto this one for now, in case it’s useful, but I do have my doubts with the long shaped knives and spatulas from the drawer. Once the deadline is reached, it can go with the rest of the contents of the Room-box if it’s deemed useless!
After a week, we have used a handful of items but not nearly as many as we were holding onto.
Our deadline is two months!
We are careful not to grab stuff carelessly from the Room-box. We want to have things that truly serve a purpose in our kitchen! So, we are not pulling out a double of something unless we actually need a double of it for that meal. We may find, in the end, that one of something is enough!

At the end of the two months, anything left in the box, we no longer need!!
Let me know if you have started your own Room-box yet or if you have thought about where you might first use it.
I will say that so far, it feels nice not to have to truly sort through each item. When you have a lot of stuff, even 20 seconds of holding an item in your hands and making a decision about it adds up to a lot of hours!
Get started and get excited!!
