I don’t know about you, but everyone I talk to lately is feeling drained and unmotivated, and just, blah!
If you’re feeling the same way, here are a few ideas you can try to get yourself back to feeling more like you!
First, sign up for an activity or for something you used to love to do as a kid! Think of crafts you enjoyed, sports you loved, or even find some friends to play board games with, if that’s your thing!
If that doesn’t help, try embracing the winter. Try a new to you winter activity. If you’ve never been skiing or snowboarding, even if it’s expensive, give it a try! Look at schedules for ice rinks around that have open skate times, better yet, find an outdoor rink to skate on! Try snowmobiling! Try ice fishing! There are actually a lot of winter specific activities to try – and – there’s a chance, you may discover a new love for the cold or snow that you didn’t know before!
If you’re really stuck for something to do, try planning a road trip or a short getaway. If you want a winter retreat, try finding a cabin to rent that’s further north so you can enjoy a wintery but cozy getaway. If you crave the sun, drive further south so that you can escape wearing ten layers to keep warm!
If it’s a change of company that you need around you, plan a girls’ weekend! It almost doesn’t even matter what town or city you explore. You just need a nice room, some tasty food, maybe a bottle of wine, and some good conversations!
Whether you have to bundle up or not, the idea is that you just need to get out of your house! It can help so much to just change where you are or who you are with, even if it’s just for one night! You could even try an overnight somewhere on your own!
It can get expensive, but it might be the medicine you need! Sometimes, you need to suck up the cost for your mental health. You can find deals so that you can go away for an overnight somewhere for just a couple hundred dollars or less depending on how much you hunt for deals!
Plan something that you will look forward to and get excited about! It will help you pass the time through the winter! Make it a priority! This kind of self care can really lift your spirits at a time when you may be desperate for the lift!
Add a little adventure to your winter!
