It’s been 30 days since I challenged you to eat at home for the whole 30 day stretch!
How did it go?
I had lunch out today, and there was one night in the middle where my husband and I took the kids out to eat at a restaurant where the kids ate free on that particular night!
We still saved way more money than we would have without keeping the challenge in mind – there were at least a couple of times where we reminded each other of the challenge to keep ourselves from eating out!
I’ve always thought that an interesting way to “save” the money from not going out would be to put aside the amount we would have paid if we HAD gone out and see what that amount is at the end of the month! We would have over $100 aside, I am sure!
The winter is an easier time to stay cozy inside, making it a great time of year for a challenge like this one! I was also sick for a portion of the time, which, again, made things easier (and harder at the same time!)
How did you do? Did you cave and eat out?
If you typically eat out a lot, try reigniting the challenge a couple of times per year and see how your bank account changes with each iteration of the challenge! (OR, see how it changes when you do eat out!)
