This bin of paper has been haunting me and taunting me! The basket sits close to my desk, and every day, I tell myself I should sort through it! I know that it is mostly recycling, so it should be an easy task, and yet, there, the basket sits, staring at me!

It’s kind of hard to tell just how tall the basket is. I tried to take a picture from the front, but I feel like it still doesn’t do it justice. That being said, I am the one that has to do the work of sorting it, so it might as well be a canyon filled with important papers to sort, right??
Like every small, manageable decluttering task, this one actually went pretty fast. In about 30 minutes – some of the papers were notes I needed to reconcile with an online document, so that took some time – I had determined what could be kept and what could be recycled!

And finally, that basket no longer has a hold of me with its stare! Now I can stare back and say, “What?” with attitude and crossed arms!!
No matter how small you think the task is, it is still worth doing! You literally just have to force yourself to put in tiny amounts of time! 30 minutes out of my whole day is nothing! And yet, doing it consistently makes my life feel totally different!
Just pick yourself up and do it!
Oh, and in case you are wondering about that library room cubby unit of mine, I am still working away on it, but needed to change up my focus. It’s important to change up the jobs so that you don’t stagnate rather than make progress. The basket is an aside, but now I can use the basket to collect other papers… Yes, then once again, it will stare me down!
