Pick a Monday morning or a Friday on your way home from work. Maybe Wednesdays over lunch work best. Whatever day it is, show up at that donation centre with a bag or box of stuff to get rid of each and every week.

Just make it consistent.
Sure, it feels great to get rid of things in a big huge lot, but the reality is that maintenance of your stuff is more important than a huge intense purge. Practicing showing up every week with stuff to get rid of creates the habit. Practice looking at your stuff in a way that allows it to come and go in your life to suit the ‘right now, you’ rather than keeping it all from some ‘past, you’ or the ‘future, you.’
Put it on your calendar as if it were an important appointment or meeting, and just show up!
