3 habits to start, change, or stop this September!

Summer is officially over and whether or not you are going back to school, your kids are going back to school, or you are simply trying to get back into full work mode, September is a time where a reset in routine is often necessary!

Like January, it can be easy to over commit to change in September.

I usually suggest picking 3 habits to focus on, rather than trying to change or focus on changing everything.

They don’t have to be new habits. Often, it’s a habit change, or maybe you have habits you’re trying to stop.

So, pick only 3 habits to start, change, or stop for September. Once September is over, pick a different 3 in October, then again in November.

Stick with picking 3 different habits each month. You will find that as your habits become more ingrained in your daily life, a shift will start to happen where it becomes easier to stick to your habits than not.

The key is to stick with your habits as often as you can! Grow your confidence and self pride by being diligent and disciplined about your habits!

So, what are you going to stick with and commit to this September?

They don’t have to be huge or life changing yet. That will come with time. But they have to be written in your commanding and powerful voice! Here are my three,

I am going to add one more glass of water to my daily water intake.

I am going to plan ahead or think about tomorrow each day.

I am going to spend 10 minutes training the dog each day.

Simple and doable habits give you an easy sense of accomplishment and make it easier to stick with your new habit for the whole month!

Pick your 3 habits. Write them down and stick them where you will see them each and every morning, like to your bathroom mirror. Seeing them in the morning makes it more likely that you will think about it through the day. Don’t tuck your list away because, as you are forming the habit, you need that reminder in your face!

Thanks for coming home!
