This is an old idea from a previous post that I decided to refresh and tweak a bit! My old post was titled “It’s action day!” Rather than taking action for a whole day, use just one hour. Make it the same hour every day if you can! Make it a recurring appointment in your calendar! Stick with it as much as you can. Use it for catching up on tidying if you are falling behind or use it to leap forward in spaces that you want to prevent from getting out of hand!
Plan it, pick your time, and put it on your calendar. Make sure nothing will regularly get in the way!
Pick out some songs, blast them on your speaker, and get cracking. Work hard and fast – it is only one hour after all!!
Dust your whole house! Or mop your floors! You could even use the time to clean your grout! Pick a task each day, get down on your hands and knees if you need to, and get it done!
As soon as the hour starts, get to work – no time to think or plan for how you will spend the time. You just got to jump in. You may want to use some of your time outside the hour to plan the tasks you will tackle each week during your hour. No sense wasting time thinking about what you should do during your one hour of really pushing yourself to work hard and get gritty with the dirt!
If you have some days where things interfere with your action hour, move the hour to a different time for that day – better to still work hard for the hour than not!
The most interesting thing about creating an action hour is how you prioritize the rest of the day. You may just start becoming more action focused throughout most of the day!
All in all, it’s amazing how much you can cross off your task list by really focusing on it for a single day or simply one hour.

Love this – One Lovely Little Hour makes all tasks seem less daunting.
