Get yourself a large garbage bag and before you take your garbage to the curb walk around the house.
Go room to room. Go upstairs and downstairs. Go from bathroom to bathroom. Step into the garage and into the storage spaces!
Be ruthless!
Don’t just look for obvious garbage. Look also for anything that’s broken or damaged. Look for things that have gone bad, like toiletries or make-up.
You may be surprised to find some extra garbage around the house even if you think you are diligent with throwing out your garbage. There is always something to add to the garbage bag – especially if you have kids or pets!
If you have a garbage limit, still take a lap around the house. It’s worth it even if you just add a few extra items to the garbage! At least, that’s a few extra items that have left your house!
And, every single item adds up to a lot by the end of the year!
