This rule keeps things fairly minimal! It’s fantastic if you’re downsizing or if you need to get rid of a lot, or even as a great maintenance rule of thumb!
The idea is that you can have only one…
By that I mean:
One shelf for displaying sentimental things
One bin full of craft supplies
One drawer of sweaters
One shelf unit for pantry things
One basket of dog toys
One closet for all of your coats and winter things
The idea is simply to have one space for the things that add clutter to your home or your life.
As soon as you buy something or add something that overfills the space you have to trade something out rather than find more space to store it!
Limit yourself to only one!
Figure out what your one is or how much space is valuable enough for you to give to your clutter. Don’t let it overflow!
