Week 3: Linens and Bathrooms!

Enough with the kitchen already!

Now we move into the bathrooms!

The way we started in the kitchen was with expired things. The same thing can now happen in the bathrooms!

Look for expired medication, old make-up, hair products that you tried but that never really worked, old face creams or lotions, any sample sized items or hotel shampoos, and anything else that is old or that you no longer use!

Keep only the toiletries that you actually use daily, everything else can go somewhere else (including the trash!)

Get rid of hair appliances that you don’t use, get rid of bath supplies you don’t use like salts or bath bombs, get rid of old hair accessories, even sort through your jewelry!

Don’t forget about your bath towels. Check for fraying edges, bad smells, or stains.

While you’re dealing with towels, check out the bed linens. Think two sets of bedding per bed. No need for more than that! One is on the bed and one is in the closet.

You could also take the time to wash the pillows!

When you’re done, you will feel so much more at peace with your house. Bathrooms and kitchens are the most visited rooms in the house!

Bathrooms are small, so really sort through everything that is hiding under the sink, in the cupboards, and in your linen closet. Make it all easy to use and easy to access! Nothing is worse than having to change the sheets in the middle of the night and having all kinds of bedding tumbling out of the closet too. Or having a reaction to some expired make-up you rediscovered!

Have fun turning your bathroom into your sanctuary and organizing your linens in the closet!

Bathrooms and kitchens are the two most common places for clutter to build up. Once it has gotten out of hand they are also generally the two easiest places to declutter because there is no sentimental value! If you haven’t used it in the last 6 months, you aren’t likely to use it in the next 6 months, or worse, it has already gone bad! So just toss it without thinking.

Good luck with week 3!! I am sure you are already noticing a huge change after chucking things from the kitchen!

Thanks for coming home!
