“Don’t eat the snow!” You say to your toddler who is picking up a handful of snow and licking it slowly while staring straight at you!…Well I have a new recipe for you that may change your mind!
Fresh Snow Ice Cream
This super delicious ice cream is so easy and DEFINITELY worth trying at home! This is not an original recipe, I found it on Pinterest, but it seemed so easy I just had to try it. There are only 3 ingredients! Ready?
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Fresh snow (maybe as much as 8 cups) – enough to make it seem like ice cream
Sounds simple enough right?
All you need is a big bowl! Add the sweetened condensed milk and the vanilla, then go outside and add the fresh snow bit by bit, stirring as you add it. The mixture will thicken and start to look like ice cream…yum! Watch out for little people trying to sneak a sampling…

We even experimented with some different flavours!

I highly recommend the crushed candy cane flavour or the coconut. But plain is also very tasty! My kids claim that it’s better than store bought vanilla ice cream! It’s also great topped with fresh fruit! (Pro tip: Reuse some of your plastic ice cream tubs to make the most of this quick and delicious way to fill your freezer!)
Next time you get a fresh dumping of snow, pull out the ingredients and whip up a batch. You will NOT be disappointed! Let me know what flavours you try!
Yum!
