Decluttering is actually self care!

Crazy to think, right? It takes work! How can it really be self care?? Isn’t self care supposed to calm, zen, or even a bath??

Organizing and decluttering can be counted as self care because it provides you with a simpler and more functional life and home! Which is actually the ultimate in self care!

Next time you are wondering what you can do for yourself when you have a moment, pick a spot and take some time to declutter it.

Labeling things can also be self care. It puts others in charge of finding stuff or putting stuff away properly without you needing to be doing it for them or telling them where to put it or get it!

Sure, decluttering is not the same as a nice warm bubble bath, but it might actually give you more satisfaction in the long run.

Next time you find yourself having a moment with a quiet house, try decluttering or organizing a small area of the house. Even if you are sitting on the couch to have a break and put your feet up. Look around the room and see if there is anything out of place or a cluttered spot nearby. Take a moment to straighten it up and get rid of at least one thing. It will make you feel like you had a break AND were productive!

Think about how you feel when you have organized and decluttered a space. Think of how amazing it feels and how proud you are of yourself!
