Figure out your roadblocks

Try to figure out your roadblocks or the things you do to procrastinate. Figure out the things that you do that get in the way of your goals rather than help you achieve them.

Create a roadblock warning poster – put it up somewhere you are likely to fall victim to your roadblocks. Or simply print off some big red circles with the lines through it (you know, like the no food or drink signs), and put them up around the house to remind you not to get sidetracked!

If you catch yourself in the act, forgive yourself. It’s ok – it’s going to happen! BUT, also, remind yourself why you don’t want to get off track from your good progress and give yourself another minute to finish what you are doing then cut yourself off, or just cut yourself off right away! Then jump right into doing the things you will be more proud of.

The better you know what gets in the way of your progress, the better prepared you are to catch yourself before 30 mins or even hours pass you by!

Whether you’re reaching for the snack cupboard (again!) or scrolling through social media, catch yourself! If you know these kinds of things get you, put that big red circle on the door of the snack cupboard or in the cupboard if you want to advertise a little less! Put a time limit on certain apps on your phone and only allow yourself one full hour for various social media sites.

For the most part, you are the one getting in your own way of your own goals! Do something that helps you get out of your way so that you can achieve great things through 2024.

Sometimes, a simple reminder of why you’re doing or not doing something is all you need in order to get out of your own way.

Thanks for coming home!
