Lessons From the Branches: Making Room to Grow!

Way back when I started this blog I had two goals in mind. One, I wanted to share my amazing ideas. I feel like I truly have good advice to offer since I was and most often am still living in the clutter chaos. Two, I wanted some way to share my voice with my kids. As they grow, they go through different seasons of life. Sometimes copying what I am doing, listening with amazement, exploring and discovering, then ignoring with intention as they go from toddler to teen. I figured, at some point, they may want to read my true authentic words where they can take their time absorbing my essence. It’s a lovely thought but who knows?

In the chaos of this stage of life, and everyone developing such ‘wonderfully creative ways’ to get under my skin, I find myself at a bit of a pause. Even a lack of enjoying my own creativity.

I find that I can’t even successfully use my own clever clutter systems, my organization hacks are turning into piles of laundry on everyone’s floors, and my creative juices are simply not inspiring new ideas.

Sometimes that’s life, and that is A-OK!

Life changes in stages.

As I walked under trees that were turning into brilliant reds and yellows with the change in weather, I was reminded of a tidbit I read somewhere long ago. It suggested that even the strongest of trees experience seasons. Seasons where they show off beautiful flowers, and seasons where they shed all their beauty, all their leaves so that they can pause their growth. Another spring comes and they become even stronger and more beautiful than before.

Such a wonderful sentiment. Life changes. You grow, you become a new version of yourself, you focus on different areas of life, and sometimes, you just need to simply breathe. Somedays, you don’t have to be the most productive or the most efficient version of yourself. Somdays, it’s enough just to be present with your kids or simply enjoy looking at the changing colour of the leaves.

Somedays, you just need to pause and enjoy the tiny miracles of life!

I love this blog. I love it for myself to have a landing pad for my ideas, I love having a place where I can fine tune my ideas and turn them into these posts. I love the community that has grown here. And, I also love that it can offer some gentle help for those who may be drowning in their own stuff. What I love most, is that these posts can become somewhere that my kids can find me and see some of the real life they lived but from a completely different angle.

I find that I am in a phase of lower creativity. I find myself needing to step back and shed some of my own leaves and beauty. I will sprinkle my blog posts out so you can’t get rid of me yet. But I need to re-root my why, take some time to breath, and make this space great again. Rest assured, you will definitely get more of my ‘docu-mess-teries’, I am definitely not giving up. I will be sharing my clutter success and my great chaotic foibles as I face them. I enjoy sharing my struggles and ideas in case it helps you too. Feel free to share any struggles you have in your own homes. Maybe we can inspire each other! Or at the very least, laugh because at least we are in the weeds together!

For now, I am going to snuggle up on the couch with my cute little pug, maybe play a game with the kids, and maybe even try to plan some future adventures – I will likely also remind them to hang up their clothes, but that might wait for another day.

I will be back here on and off, so for now, good luck with your clutter! Always stay true to yourself!

Thanks for coming home!
