#momlife!

Ok, so it often seems impossible as a mom to finish even just one……hold on I gotta fill some water cups..

Where was I? Oh ya finishing even just one sentence. Sometimes it takes all day to finish a….hold on the dog is eating something..

Ok, so right…its hard to finish a thought! That’s what I was thinking. So I’m sitting here trying to be a mom, wife,…hold on I have to go wipe a bum…

Ok so I am a lot of things to this house. A mom, wife, homeowner, dog trainer, teacher…wait the dog got something else…maybe she needs a walk…

Ok, now I’m back and wet from the rain. Anyway, so there’s so much that I manage in my typical day. It’s hard to figure out what my highest priority is…oh wait there’s a paper jam in the printer…

It’s hard to find time to get things done, and really at the end of the day everyone just wants to feel productive, like they were actually able to accomplish…hold on it’s nutrition break, snack time!

Anyway, managing your time as a mom is crucial, no wait, I meant to say being able to even manage any time at all is not always possible. Sometimes it comes down to prioritizing just one task in order to feel like you did something in your day…hold on the door bell rang…

It’s why having a priority list can sometimes be the most critical part of your night time routine so that you don’t have to think when you’re being pulled in every direction…hold on, hubby’s on lunch break…

Even if you CAN steal 5 minutes in the bathroom, even if you don’t actually need it (the bathroom I mean, not the time), really it’s all about a mental break from everyone else ambushing you with whatever it is they need from you…hold on the kids are asking a million questions…

Sometimes you just want to escape it all! A wise woman once said to me, “the mom is the heart of the home”. I can’t think of truer words. Even just this morning, I tried to sit with my coffee in another room from the rest of the…..oh! Well, we lost internet!

Hmm, I guess I should think about dinner. I could make a chicken lasagna, maybe add some provolone, make it a white sauce, sounds delish! Anyway, back to the post.

Ok, so where was I? Right, so this morning I sit in a different room, so that maybe I can think for a whole possible 10 minutes, by myself…but everyone just followed me into that room! I mean they never sit in this room, and the one day that I am in here they all follow me?…hold on the kids are distracted from school…

Basically it comes down to everyone needing to be able to figure out what it is they need to do to recharge, and if you can find a way to recharge in less than 3 minutes then you can probably get through your day without too many issues to your own level of chaos or productivity…hold on, the dog needs to go out…

So working from a list might be able to help you remember where you left off….wait a sec my hubby’s asking something.

It’s about finding tiny tricks to help you get through your day, like maybe having no goals to accomplish anything and just simply hoping for….a msg just came in from work…

I guess just hoping for a day where not everyone in the house needs something from you at the exact intervals to interrupt everything or even just the one thing you really want to get done…oh no! It’s dinner time. I guess spaghetti it is. The fancy lasagna will have to wait…

Right, so I guess in the end…just wait until the kids have moved out so that you can spend at least some time in your day in peace and quiet…at 10:30pm…with the last 2/3rds of your coffee still sitting beside you from 6am…when you tried to take the time to finish the ONE thing you had to do today….before you were…oh, the dog has to go out again…

Now to plan for tomorrow! Maybe I should start with wine!

Thanks for coming home!
